Updates for Trinity term exams

Metadata removal in Inspera - metadata is now removed automatically from PDF files submitted to Inspera. This happens when a student completes their assessment and presses ‘Submit now’, or when an administrator attaches a PDF file to a candidate’s response. To further maintain anonymity during the marking process, please continue to remind students not to include identifying information within the body of their typed or handwritten work. This applies to both submissions of coursework and online examinations.

New report to manually add candidates to an Inspera test - If you need to add candidates to an Inspera test manually, a new report is now available in eVision to help you quickly source the required information. It is called ‘Candidate List for Inspera’ and can be found under the Examinations tab. Please note that for the majority of tests, candidates are added to tests and kept up to date automatically via an integration between eVision and Inspera. This report should only be required for practice tests, approved subjects, or where candidates have not entered for an assessment in eVision.

Manage your Inspera roles - don’t forget to assign yourself, and your colleagues, the roles you need to access Trinity Term assessments in Inspera. All roles are now assigned by department administrators with access to the Manage Inspera Roles task in eVision. Please speak to your Information Custodian if you do not have access to this task and think that you should.

Transcribing illegible scripts - guidance on the process for the transcription of illegible scripts has been updated. Please see the Non-appearance, mitigating circumstances and transcription page of the Exams and Assessments webpages.

Remote invigilation - If a student is not able to attend an in-person exam because of an approved medical reason (not just COVID-related) or residency situation, it may be possible for them to sit it online at the same time as the in-person exam, with remote invigilation in place. If they have approved residency dispensation to be outside of mainland UK, or have to stay at home due to COVID-19 guidance or having other specific medical conditions (but are otherwise well), they should contact their college (or department if they don’t have a college). They will need to submit a remote invigilation application to the Proctors Office on the student’s behalf. Full details of eligibility and the application process are available on the Remote invigilation for candidates unable to attend in-person exams page of the Exams and Assessments website.
