This year, the selection criteria for UNIQ (Oxford's flagship undergraduate access programme for UK state school students) were reviewed and now include Free School Meals data for the first time.
With UNIQ offers now made to over 1,550 students, data shows positive and significant rises in applications from certain target groups, including Scottish students.
The 2022 cohort will also see the highest proportion of Black Asian and Minority Ethnic students in UNIQ's history and for the first time since 2019, many participants will be taking part in a four-day residential as well as the online programme.
