Silver Group has confirmed that, in light of the ongoing pandemic, formal teaching is expected to continue online for the remainder of Hilary term for most students. In addition to those students currently receiving in-person teaching, students on a small number of additional courses will be invited to return for vital University in-person teaching to begin in Week 5 of Hilary term.
The University remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of education, whether in-person or online. If Government restrictions are lifted, it may be possible for more students to return to Oxford later this term. However, formal teaching is very likely to remain online for most students, unless there is a significant change in Government policy.
Detailed planning for Trinity term is now underway, including whether any measures such as catch-up teaching may be required for small numbers of students. A further update will be provided by the middle of this term.
