Revised arrangements for orientation events for International and European (non-UK) students

Orientation events will be combined with the annual Freshers' Fair in week 0 from October. Students will not need to arrive earlier for separate central orientation events in -1 week. The new arrangements will include more pre-arrival information, including some new podcasts over the summer and a guide to settling into social and academic life. Dedicated rooms in the Examination Schools will host information stands about central University services for all UK and non-UK students to receive more information. Visa talks will be held at the start of term. A circular regarding the changes was sent to department and college contacts on Tuesday 16 April. The change has been made based on feedback collated from students, surveys, the Oxford SU and other colleagues. For further information, see the circular on the visa-vis weblearn site or contact student.information@admin.ox.ac.uk.
