Silver Group has confirmed that all degree ceremonies in May, July and August 2021 will be postponed as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
While Government restrictions are expected to be eased over the coming months, social distancing and international travel restrictions are expected to be in place for some time to come, meaning it is not feasible for the ceremonies to take place as planned.
A working group chaired by Professor Jane Shaw is now reviewing arrangements for ceremonies due to be held in the next academic year, together with options to manage the backlog of graduands.
Work is also taking place to consider arrangements for medical students who need to have their degrees conferred before starting work in the NHS. More information will be shared as soon as possible.
