Consent for Students: new training programme

The University’s Sexual Harassment and Violence Support Service launches a new online consent training programme this week for the 2023-24 academic year. Consent for Students, an eLearning programme developed by sexual health and wellbeing charity Brook launches this Wednesday 20 September and will be promoted to new and returning students to complete prior to the start of term. Staff are also invited to complete the training to develop a shared understanding of the issues of consent.

Following a successful pilot in 2022, the Support Service will also run in-person, student-facilitated consent workshops in a number of colleges to complement the new approach.

Consent training and the Support Service form part of the University’s Oxford Against Sexual Violence campaign, sending a clear message that sexual harassment and violence of any form is never acceptable. Communications materials to support the promotion of the campaign will follow in the near future. Please contact Thalia.Wallis@admin.ox.ac.uk with queries.
