University Continuation Charge grace period extended for Hilary term

In light of the continuing impact of the pandemic, the University has extended the grace period granted to all postgraduate research students before assessing liability for University Continuation Charges (UCC) this term. The previously granted four-week grace period has been extended to eight weeks. This will allow students to submit their thesis by Friday of 8th week (12 March 2021) without incurring the UCC for Hilary. Students can apply as usual to their division for a further extension of one week, and to the Proctors Office for a further week beyond that, if they have an exceptional reason to seek further dispensation.

This grace period will automatically be provided to students who submit their thesis by 12 March 2021, and they will not need to apply for an academic extension to cover late submission of their thesis during this period.  Postgraduate students are being informed in today’s PG Student News, and the FAQs page of the student coronavirus site, together with the COVID-19 Scholarship Extensions Fund (CSEF) page, have been updated.
